Long has the stories of the Old World fallen into History.  Stories turn to tales, tales to legend, legend to myth and in time forgotten.  So has the Keeper of Stories become but myth to a modern age.  In a time where the Gods walked among the people, a brave soul came before one such God.  Tantu, on bended knee, pleaded to Anansi, the God of Wisdom, for the power to protect the people of Zambesi.  Tantu knew of Anansi's power, his ability to adapt and change form to confront his enemies at any turn.  Moved by the man's selfless request, he gave unto him a Totem that would allow him the gifts of Anasi and so he would be able to confront his foes with all the strengths of his homeland.

So time passed, and the line of Tantu carried the Totem through history, along with the story of its true purpose.  As peace descended upon the Zambesi people, the Totem of power became a symbol, and the recounting of its creation but a story for children.  The modern age all but silenced the tellings of the Old Gods, but somethings do not remain hidden forever...
